At the 2010 Cross-Straits Photonics Forum and Industrial Matchmaking Symposium during CXMEE, “high efficiency”, “energy conservation” and “low carbon” became hot words. Industry insiders predict that in coming years, LED indoor lightings, road lighting systems, ornamental background lights, and screens are set to become hot commodities in the market as they were eagerly sought after by international buyers at this year’s CXMEE.
Jiao Youjun, Director-General, Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, stated that machinery and electronics have consistently accounted for a significant percentage of Taiwan’s investment in mainland China, and that the exchange and cooperation of the machinery and electronics industries across the Taiwan Straits have not only stimulated their own growth, but also strengthen the industries’ efforts to tap into the global market.
On the evening of April 8, representatives from the optical communication industries on both sides of the Taiwan Straits held a preparatory meeting for the Cross-Straits Optical Industry Alliance, which will be aimed at promoting win-win cooperation in the optical communication industries across the Taiwan Straits, forging ties with Chinese optical communication businesses worldwide, enhancing exchange and cooperation, and tapping global business opportunities.
