The 2010 Global Search Engine Marketing Convention is currently underway in Xiamen during the 14th CXMEE. CEOs from more than 100 renowned Internet enterprises and conventional enterprises, as well as experts on venture capital and search engine marketing, are exploring "B2C marketing solutions."

The convention has received strong support from the Asia SEM Association, the Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO), the North America Search Marketing Organization, the Taipei International Web Advertising and Media Operation Organization, and Koelnmesse. Peter Hunter, CEO of Iprospect APAC; Zhan Hongzhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PChome Online; Ruan Jingwen, president and CEO of iResearch; Dr. Lu Liang, general manager of Huashu Taobao are in attendance. More than 30 senior executives will address the convention.

Statistics show that China's online shopping in 2009 topped RMB 267 billion, accounting for 2.1 percent of total retails, double the amount of 2008. However, compared with developed nations, China's online shopping penetration rate remains low.

The convention will explore all steps in B2C operations and analyzes B2C websites' performance at SEO, PPC, SNS, blogs and the mobile internet. Skomart COO Han Buyong delivered a presentation of B2C marketing as a math question, while Awoo general manager Lin Siwu shared with the audience the overall promotion schemes of two famous 3C stores. Participants at the convention also provide spot "diagnosis" for the online marketing strategies for CXMEE visitors. Advertisers, entrepreneurs and website operators were encouraged to raise questions to convention participants, with remarkable results achieved.

The convention will include a high-level Internet forum with participants from across the Taiwan Straits. Zhan Hongzhi, chairman of PChome Online, Taiwan's largest online media company, as well as Lin Siwu, general manager of Awoo International, Taiwan's leading search engine marketing firm, will attend the forum and exchange views with mainland Internet executives on innovations.

Forum organizers stated that the Global Search Engine Marketing Convention is dedicated to facilitating online marketing for enterprises taking part in CXMEE and enhancing their application skills and competitiveness on the Internet. These efforts will enhance the cooperation of brand-new and conventional marketing models between the mainland and Taiwan and facilitate the transformation of the conventional marketing model.

Industry insiders state that this convention will play a significant role in promoting the development of the global search engine industry and B2C industry and stimulating the growth of China's online shopping market in the midst of global economic recovery.
