The 14th China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition (CXMEE) opened on April 8 at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. It is the largest machinery and electronics exhibition co-organized by both sides of the Taiwan Straits and is expected to draw more than 30,000 participants. The year’s CXMEE provides an exhibition space of 60,000 square meters and 2,547 booths, an increase of 30 percent from last year. More than 500 of the booths are occupied by Taiwan enterprises and Taiwan-funded enterprises. The machinery exhibition area alone has over 1,000 booths; the engineering exhibition area has more than 800 booths; and the industrial control exhibition area and industrial mould area each contain more than 300 booths.

The year’s CXMEE has attracted a significant number of machinery and electronics enterprises from across the Taiwan Straits and global industry leaders. More than 800 enterprises exhibit at the CXMEE. The organizing committee will present 22 forums, symposia, seminars, and briefings during the CXMEE, which has emerged as the most recognized platform for exchange in the machinery and electronics industries.

Government officials and industry leaders attending the opening ceremony included Zheng Lizong, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council; Yu Weiguo, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Xiamen Municipal Committee; Cao Jianlin, deputy minister of science and technology; Wei Chuanzhong, deputy director of the State Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine Administration; Liu Cigui, director of the CXMEE Organizing Committee and mayor of Xiamen; Chen Xiumao, chairman of the Xiamen People’s Political Consultative Conference; Zou Erjun, deputy director of the Fujian-Taiwan Economic Cooperation Promotion Committee; Jiao Youjun, director-general of the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association; and Liu Guozhao, director-general of the Taipei Importers and Exporters Association.
