Renowned economist Yi Xianrong will deliver a speech at the 14th CXMEE. In his speech titled “the Current Financial Market and Future Investment Opportunities”, Mr. Yi will explore the current financial market and investment opportunities in the stock market and the property market.
Dubbed “the Civilians’ Spokesman for Real Estate”, Mr. Yi is currently director of the Financial Development Section of the Financial Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Born in Shanggao, Jiangxi in 1958, Mr. Yi was admitted to the East China Normal University in Shanghai in 1982. He was enrolled in 1994 in a financial doctoral program at the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, earning a Ph.D. in 1997. From July 1997 to September 1999, he worked at the post-doctoral mobile work station in economics at the Renmin University of China. From 1998 to 2000, he studied under the tutelage of Professor Steven N.S.Cheung at the Faculty of Business and Economics, the University of Hong Kong. He was a visiting professor at Taiwan Tsinghua University in July 1999. In 1998, he became a member of the International Society for New Institutional Economics. Mr. Yi’s economic commentary, Preventing the Real Estate Sector from Blackmailing the Entire Chinese Economy, which was written in July 2005, is considered to be the “fuse” of the nationwide debate on the “realty sector” of that year was a bubble. Since then, Mr. Yi’s name has been associated with “real estate” and “housing price”. He once claimed that China’s real estate industry is an industry with windfall profits.
Mr. Yi will deliver this speech, “the Current Financial Market and Future Investment Opportunities”, at 2:30 PM on April 8 in the International Conference Hall on the fourth floor of the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.
