Taiwan machinery and electronics enterprises are expected to take up 500 booths at the 14th China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition, which will take place in Xiamen in April. These enterprises will explore business opportunities opened up by the warming relations across the Taiwan Straits and the recovery of the global economy.

Organizers announced at a recent press conference that the 14th China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition, dubbed “the Premier Machinery and Electronics Exhibition” across the Taiwan Straits, will take place on from April 8 to 11 at Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.

With the growth of the economic and trade exchanges between the mainland and Taiwan, enterprises on both sides are more upbeat about the prospects of cooperation and the recovery of the world economy. According to Xiamen vice mayor Huang Ling, the 14th CXMEE has attracted intense attention from machinery and electronics enterprises on both sides of the Taiwan Straits, and so far, about 500 Taiwanese organizations and enterprises have confirmed their intentions to take part in CXMEE. Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, the Cross-Straits Market Foundation, Taichung World Trade Center, Taiwan Automotive Manufacturers’ Association, Taipei Importers and Exporters Association, and Taipei Chamber of Commerce will send delegations to CXMEE.

The 14th China Xiamen Machinery and Electronics Exhibition (CXMEE), specially authorized by the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of China, is co-sponsored by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronics Products (CCCME), Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, and Xiamen Municipal People’s Government.

Huang Ling stated that the forthcoming CXMEE will benefit from the recovery of the global economy and the warming relations between the mainland and Taiwan, and is set to attract a greater number of machinery and electronics enterprises and multinational companies. She also revealed that to date, over 5,000 business professionals from more than 20 countries and regions, including Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and the United States, have signed up for the exhibition, and more than 800 businesses have confirmed their intentions to stage exhibitions at CXMEE, and over 30,000 business professionals are expected to be in attendance.

CXMEE has become a vital platform for the trading, exchange and networking of machinery and electronics enterprises across the Taiwan Straits. The 14th CXMEE will provide an exhibition space of 60,000 square meters, and showcase machinery, industrial moulds, pumps, valves, materials, instruments, industrial controls, and energy-saving lightings. On the strength of the successful Engineering Machinery Exhibition, CXMEE will host the 2010 China (Xiamen) International Engineering Machinery and Building Materials and Machinery Exhibition, and the Cross-Straits Premium Products Exhibition.
