To what extent are professionals on both sides of the Taiwan Strait mutually complementary? What are the future development trends in the job markets across the Taiwan Strait? What kind of mindset should Taiwanese professionals have in their job hunt in the mainland? Yesterday afternoon, Xiamen Talents Center and Taiwan Fanyi Human Resources Management Consultancy Co., Ltd. jointly held a symposium on cross-strait talents exchange and cooperation, attracting experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait.

At the first job in the mainland aimed at Taiwanese professionals on April 8, the majority of job hunters are university graduates from Taiwan and Kinmen and Taiwanese students receiving education in the mainland.

Zeng Xiangquan, a professor of China People's University, suggested that Taiwanese higher-education institutions open internship centers at Taiwanese enterprise in the mainland to attract interns from Taiwan. By doing so, Taiwanese enterprises can build up human resources reserves and Taiwanese students will have an opportunity to better understand the job market in the mainland.

Zheng Hengqi, a professor of the Labor Research Institute of Taiwan Chengchi University, proposed building a cross-strait private employment service mechanism to strengthen labor supervision of Taiwanese-funded enterprises and intensify cooperation between labor unions across the Taiwan Strait.
