The past decade has proved fruitful the CXMEE in promoting cross-strait economic and trade exchanges. Looking into the future, the CXMEE enjoys infinite potential for growth. At the 10 th anniversary of the CXMEE, Wu Yi, Vice Premier of the State Council, sent a congratulatory letter to the CXMEE, praising the fruitful results of the CXMEE and expressing her expectations for its future.
"Serving Asia-Pacific and Embracing the World". This is the future positioning of the CXMEE as designated by its visionary Organizing Committee. At the 10 th anniversary of the CXMEE, all related parties have taken clear stock of their experience and identified the path forward for the CXMEE: to maintain its specialization and its Taiwan-oriented nature.
At the CXMEE, Zhang Changping, Director of the Organizing Committee and Mayor of Xiamen, said that the CXMEE will further adapt to advances in science and technology and changes in the market and sustain its specialized nature in serving as a platform for economic and trade exchanges with Taiwan.
Huang Heming, Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee and Xiamen Promotion Center for the Trade to Taiwan, said that they will continue to provide highly specialized exhibitions in a down-to-earth manner and will make all possible efforts to build the CXMEE into a leading exhibition in China, Asia and even the whole world.
The CXMEE has achieved fresh success in attracting a greater number of businesses. South Korea's Hyundai Kia Machinery made its debut in the CXMEE. Luo Huai-jia, Executive Director of Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Associations, a co-organizer of the event, also sang high praise of the CXMEE, which has attracted a large number of exhibitors from the Southeast Asia, indicating that the CXMEE has taken up a stronger international nature.
With regard to the future of the CXMEE, Luo Huai-jia said that the Taiwanese co-organizer's initial plan was to build the CXMEE into the largest specialized exhibition across the Taiwan Strait. To this end, the Organizing Committee must intensify its overseas publicity and promotion and attract professional buyers from the Southeast Asia, Europe and North America.
Mr. Shen Danyang, Vice President of the International Trade & Economic Research Institute under the Ministry of Commerce and Executive Vice Director of China Convention & Exhibition Economy Research Society said that even since its inception, the CXMEE has received strong support from officials from the Central Government, the Ministry of Commerce, and the Taiwanese Affairs Office.

A large number of meticulously staged supporting activities, including a job fair for Taiwanese professionals and university graduates, an unveiling ceremony for the top 10 pop songs in the South Fujian dialect, a cross-strait delicacy and folklore festival, a show of premium commodities, a symposium on women-rated topics, and a cross-strait economic and trade forum, has further enhanced the influence of the CXMEE.
Huang Ling, Vice Director of the Organizing Committee and Vice Mayor of Xiamen revealed that the government is considering utilizing the platform of the CXMEE to hold a " Taiwan Week" or " Taiwan Month" before or after the CXMEE.
