The Taiwanese Professionals & University Graduates Mainland Job Fair, a highlight of the 10th CXMEE, will open tomorrow at Xiamen Talents Market. So far, 50-plus employers, mostly from electromechanical, new energy and photoelectric industries, have signed up for the job fair.

As most of the brightest highlights of the supporting activities for the CXMEE this year, the Taiwanese Professionals & University Graduates Mainland Job Fair is the first talents exchange event jointly sponsored by both sides of the Taiwan Strait, attracting more than 100 Taiwanese professionals.

According to Cheng Changjian, Director of Xiamen Talents Service Center, the job fair is sponsored by the Organizing Committee of the CXMEE and Xiamen Municipal Personnel Bureau, and staged by Taiwan Pan-Asia Human Resources Co., Ltd. The fair makes Xiamen the first city in China to host a cross-strait job fair.

Mr. Cheng also side that if the results are positive, such job fairs will be held on a regular basis.

Statistics show that, by yesterday, 50-plus employers had signed up for the fair. Prospective employers at the fair include higher-education institutions such as Xiamen University, Jimei University and Huaqiao University, multinational companies such as Dell, NEC, Dongjin Electronics and AVV, and leading domestic enterprises such as Jinde Piping, Xunxin Zipper and Septwolves Enterprise. A number of Taiwan-funded businesses will also be looking for talents at the fair. They have full confidence in Taiwanese talents.

The majority of prospective employers at the job fair are from the electromechanical, new energy and photoelectric industries. They have a large demand for talents with expertise in electronics, photo-electricity, computer, real estate, insurance, and building materials.

Media reports indicate that Taiwanese talents attending the fair are mostly technical professionals and fresh university graduates from Taiwan, and Taiwanese graduates and professionals in the mainland. Moreover, 100-plus Taiwanese talents will fly to Xiamen to attend the fair.

To ensure the job’s Taiwanese orientation, organizers require all employers to open their vacancies to Taiwanese candidates. All attendees to the job fair will be Taiwanese talents.

At the job fair, organizers will also stage the 5th “Meet at CXMEE” Special Talents Exchange Fairs for Electromechanical, New Energy and Photoelectric Industries, Seminar on Business Startup and Employment Policies for Taiwanese Talents and Students, and Cross-Strait Human Resources Forum.
